About Us

We are a family run establishment, where fine dining in a relaxed warm and comfortable environment is a real pleasure. All food is freshly prepared in our own kitchens with ingredients (often organic) carefully sourced from local suppliers. Special dietary requirements can be catered for so please ask when booking. Our culture is one of continuous improvement and innovation where the whole team are encouraged to bring new ideas forward. We strive to be environmentally friendly with careful use of low or non toxic chemicals where possible, together with a focus on recycling and composting vegetable waste, even to the extent of growing numerous fruit and vegetables in our own little vegetable patch will be used in our Restaurant.


Chris and Colin have been in the hospitality business for many years and both have a wealth of experience having trained in some of the country’s most highly reputable hotels. By establishing themselves in business at The Thatched Cottage Restaurant, along with their children Jake and Keelie, they are fulfilling a life long ambition.

Colin started his career as a chef at the age of 16, training in a Swiss restaurant in Bournemouth for 5 years before moving to the Cotswolds to broaden his expertise and attaining a head chef position at the age of only 25. Subsequently winning numerous awards Colin has also trained at The Greenhouse Restaurant in London with Gary Rhodes.

Chris has over 15 years experience as a pastry chef and latterly headed up the team at a 2 rosette awarded hotel, again in the Cotswolds. There will be lots of delicious goodies to tempt you so resistance is pointless!

Together, their skills have been put to excellent use at The Thatched Cottage Restaurant which continues to build on its enviable reputation for a first class dining experience. The fine dining evenings are already proving to be a great success and a relaxed lunch provides tempting glimpses to whet your appetite!

Front of House
A warm greeting is assured at all times from Chris, Peter or any one of our friendly team. You can enter through the picturesque walled garden from the car park or alternatively there is a level access at the front of the building.

In the summer months you will be invited to take morning coffee, afternoon tea or even pre dinner drinks in the garden seating area. Pimms in the summer is a cool favourite!
